Overview
The SWCA Summer Camp is a week-long construction education program for middle school students, hosted at a local high school in Southwest Washington. The program gives students hands-on exposure to the trades — offering a real-world look at construction as a career path while building skills and confidence in a supportive environment.
The campaign ran from June through August 2025, covering every phase from early sign-up promotion through real-time event coverage and post-program follow-up. The goal was to fill every camp session while also building the broader community of sponsors, volunteers, and partners who make the program possible.
Objectives
- Drive student registrations and reach full enrollment for each camp session
- Recruit and publicly thank sponsors who fund the program
- Recruit volunteers from the construction and contracting community
- Provide real-time daily coverage to build momentum, encourage engagement, and attract additional support
Strategy & Execution
A content calendar was built with distinct phases: a pre-camp sign-up push with deadline reminders, a sponsorship and volunteer recruitment period, live event-day coverage, and post-camp follow-up content. Each phase had its own messaging focus and audience — students and families for sign-ups, industry professionals for sponsorship and volunteering, and the broader community for daily coverage.
Real-time coverage during each camp day included on-the-ground photos and short interviews with students and volunteers. These candid, human-centered posts consistently generated the highest engagement of the campaign — demonstrating the program's impact in a way that polished graphics alone could not. Follow-up photo roundups extended the content lifecycle and gave sponsors additional visibility after the events.
